Life ... in various shapes and forms ...

on a crisp winter morning ....

Full moon reflected in the lake - reminds me of the story of Ram ... he wanted to eat the moon ... and got it in a plate ... :)

Sunrise through the cypress ...

this scene is right outside my apt - dont even have to go a yard from my doorstep to see this sight - i have been photographing it over six months now, at various times of the day - under various weather conditions, using various camera settings ... it does not cease to amaze me though ... looks different in every picture ...

I had earlier posted a couple of photos of the same scene under various weather conditions (winter and spring)- here is another one in foggy rainy weather.

Flying Gulls - always reminds me of the Sony Pictures Oscar nominated documentary Winged Migration.

The Railway Bridge being pulled up at the Ballard Locks in Seattle to allow passage of ships. The visit to this place on July 4 weekend was certainly put in perspective after reading Ian Spires' story.

Joggers Paradise.
Edgewater is certainly a fun place, and offers tons of photo opportunities.

A lot of photos I click are taken around Lady Ann Lake at Edgewater, where I live. Here is another sunset with the swans. They almost know what it means to be on camera, and show up at the most opportune moments.

The same Little River Falls about 3 months later - the whole area is greener - but the Falls have lost a considerable amount of water. There is a guy actually sitting in the middle of the Falls Posted by Hello

Fireworks

4th of July Fireworks in Seattle (2004) - launched over lake union from a barge just off Gas Works Park. the space needle is completely obscured by the smoke from the fireworks.

Seattle Trip - July 4 weekend 2004

Mt. Rainier - Myrtle Falls

Mt. Rainier with Myrtle Falls in the foreground. The Switzerland type alpine setting brought to mind Sherlock Holmes and Prof. Moriarty struggling and finally plunging to the solution of The Final Problem  at the fall of Reichenbach.

Reflection Lake

Reflection Lake - unfortunately, the water was not still enough to provide a better reflection, but it certainly gives a hint of how grand the sight might be - esp at sunrise or sunset, when the snow covered peak gets golden or pink or orange hues ... the kid at the bottom just refused to step out of the way, instead kept throwing stones in the water (i could have moved - but you can see how little exposed space there was, all the trees jutting in from the corners already). perhaps i should have boxed his ears and reminded him that the name is "reflection lake" for a reason ... well not that the reflection was going to get better ... but merely that i would have had a chance to pull him out of the frame.

a friend actually asked me why i didnt go and kick that kid's ass, but as it happened, my family was waiting for me, so i had to quickly click a couple of photos and run off, so didnt have the time to actually get him out of the way by brute force, not that i would have tried it anyway - but what the heck :)

PHOTO BLOG BEGINS!

i am going to use this space as a photo blog -

This picture was taken at sunrise about 4 months ago, outside my apartment ... the ducks swam into view just at the right moment.

This was a picture i posted on my regular webblog - i will be soon removing it from there. I wonder how much space blogger allows for file posting. something that needs some looking into ... seems to be working without a hassle so far.
